A look at Como Park — the ground that has been home to Old Geelong Football Club since 1954, and what makes it one of Melbourne's most beloved suburban ovals.
Tucked along Toorak Road in South Yarra, Como Park is one of those grounds that feels like it belongs to a different era. Tall gums frame the boundary, the Yarra sits just beyond the treeline, and on a Saturday afternoon there’s nowhere better to be.
A Ground With History
Old Geelong Football Club has called Como Park home since our founding year of 1954. Over seven decades, this oval has hosted thousands of matches — premiership chases, close finals, and the kind of quiet Saturday victories that don’t make headlines but stay with players for a lifetime.
The ground has evolved over the years, but the atmosphere remains the same: a proper local football club, in a proper local setting.
