It is with sadness that we advise the OGFC community on the passing of one of our greatest supporters, Graeme Goldsworthy. o celebrate his wonderful life and all the people he shared great memories with, a remembrance of his life can be viewed via the below link:
Graeme was a huge part of the Club in the 2000’s where he and his wife Kerry were regular fixtures on a Saturday at Como, watching their sons take to the field - Matt (117 games including the 2005 Senior Premiership) and Ben (4 games). Undoubtedly, his largest contribution to the OGs was off-field where he played an enormous role in strengthening the Clubs connections with Geelong College during this period. He was also a loyal Pivot Member and rallied many of the Geelong based parents to join him in support of the Club. He promoted attendance at our member lunches and functions as well as donating major raffle and auction items. Many of our members will recollect the infamous “old-school” blue and white scarves that Graeme had made up for our supporters in 2005 (as worn by him in the image below). In 2008 he was awarded honorary life membership for his outstanding service to the Club.
The Old Geelong Football Club extend their sincerest condolences to Kerry, Matt and the extended Goldsworthy family at this sad time. RIP GG.
