Richmond Netball Club

OGS White

This weeks game for the OGS white while not resulting in a win, showed some big improvements on our previous weeks games. Understandably, it has proved difficult for all of us to play in a team that had never played together until recently and doesn't train. However, it seems that we are all slowly getting used to our different styles of netball. Hopefully if we maintain our composure and continue improving we will come out with a win next week!

Final Score: Loss

OGS Green

On Monday night we played ‘On Point’. They started out strong with the whole game feeling very close. They put pressure up and down the court with lots of fit and quick players. At half time we all thought there were about 5 goals in it, but to our surprise, we were 10 goals up. The score didn’t really reflect the game as it was pretty intense. Getting the ball down the court was cruisy at times but they definitely applied the pressure. Although once we got the ball into the goal circle it was inevitable that Annabelle's height and accuracy was always going to get us a goal. We had an awesome fill in Emily Jackson that helped in the goal circle grabbing some great rebounds. Our mid court worked well with Gemma, Judy and Arabella working the ball well. Kaitlin scored some ripper intercepts and rebounds in defence.

Final score 31-18.

OGS Red

Wednesday night’s match saw the OGS red girls come up against a solid St Michaels team. Despite tough competition, all team members came together and brought their A-game to the court. The first half of the game was played at a high intensity keeping the score relatively close. Having been only a couple of goals down at half time we were determined to see what we could accomplish in the second half, eager to come away with a win. Despite our great efforts comprising tremendous skill and teamwork, St Michaels defense proved to be too strong. Overall, we were pleased our performance. Julia Clarke and Charlotte Kay played awesome.

Final Score: Loss 11 - 29

OGS Black

This week we played against maccabi get fit. Despite the tough competition and the loss both teams played very well. We improved our team work as the game progressed and we worked more effectively together as a team. All players contributed their best effort during the game, in particular Imy played very well in defence this week.
